That cam isn't much bigger than stock. If you're going to go through the trouble of swapping cams, you might want to make it worth it.
You can use just about any cam that will work well with stock heads and a stock stall. You wont be flashing into your powerband but it's not like you CAN'T have a cam with a higher base RPM range without having a stall.....you'll just see better results with a stall.
Might want to look into a Hotcam kit. It's a great deal for the money considering you get 1.6 RR's and springs along with it.
I did have a stall when I had the Hotcam which helped my times but with the Hotcam, headers, catback, gears and stall I was running 13.2's on street tires.
It really depends on how much money you have. You can get a decent converter for $500 or less and I don't remember offhand how much the Hotcam kit is but it's less than $500.......I bought mine barely used for $200.
