Well, i'm in the homestretch of my heads/ cam exhaust/ clutch upgrade and am now turning my attention toward upgrading the fuel sysyem.  The motor is a stock bottom end with the following mods:

Ported intake and heads with 2.00/ 1.57 Manley valves
Comp cams custom grind 224/236 Dur.  502/ 520 lift (1.5 ratio) 115+3 LSA
Jet-hot long tubes
Y-pipe with twin random tech cats
Vortech SQ trim (6 lbs)

Fuel system (current set-up)
stock injectors with FMU
Vortech T-Rex inline pump

I am seriously considering ditching my FMU and upgrading the injectors and fuel pump.  What is the consensus on selecting the right components vs. horsepower?

I also want to perform my own tuning, which program has the best track record for the OBDII system?  Which is the most user friendly?  I would also entertain a mail order tune as a baseline and use tuning software for all upgrades.

I have performed exhaustive research and there are just too many options out there to make this decision without first asking the question.

Cheers!
JD

Walbro intank pump and some SVO 36 lb injectors.  Tune with tuner cat or LT1 edit.  The FMU and inline pump is a bandaid as far as I'm concerned.

I've used Tunercat on my L98 vette and it works great.  It's pretty easy to undersatnd too.  I've never done anything  as extensive as what you've got going on though.  89POS uses LT1 edit on another high HP LT1 with good results.  If you don't ever plan to change the combo you might consider sending the PCM to pcmforless.com.

Tuning is a jungle man.  The bull shit you'll find online is extremely thick in this area for some reason.  I think you should choose between LT1 edit and Tunercat, then go from there.  Buy a system and see what you can figure out.  89POS could talk you through some stuff with LT1 edit, and Rockin' C Racin' uses tunercat with great success.

The best would be DFI, but that's pretty extreme for your set-up (expensive too).

Whatever happend to dropping me a line and cluing me in bish?!

Go with the Walbro kit from Racetronix.  It is super complete and has a special wiring harness that makes the pump work even better.  It is so good that I had to unhook my harness because it was feeding too much fuel for my system.

I did research on this a couple of years ago and the Racetronix/walbro was the universal best answer.

The 42# SVO injectors are in the mail and I'm getting ready to order the Racetronix P n' P system.
