« on: August 05, 2005, 04:20:56 pm »
i have a aluminum intake elbow on my 95 formula but the little hose that sits on thee rubber one is not on the new elbow. the car isnt running that well now, could that be the cause? should i drill a tiny hole and put the hose back on? thanks.

Yes that could cause it.  That is a vacuum hose.

Yeah, and it vents the optispark, helping it stay dry.

I hate to tell you, but it probably wont cause that bad of problems.  It would make your idle go all over, and may have a few little driving problems, but it shouldnt cause your car to die.

Because of the turbo system, that tube on mine is not connected to anything, so it's a small vac leak.  My idle is messed, but other than that, I cant tell anythings wrong.  :-\

i drilled a hole and put that line in and i drove it around yesterday and it ran fine. i dont know maybe it just didnt act up yesterday. but usually when i get running for about 5 minutes it will start to stumble when i punch it from low rpms and it didnt do that. it ran great. i know you said that probably wouldnt help that problem so maybe i got lucky yesterday. i just dont want to replace the opti. im just not sure what else would cause it to do that. it seemed like it happened when i put that on but maybe it just happened at the same time. there is no check engine light or anything like that and when i would get above 3000rpms and hit it, it would do just fine. im confused i never had a problem like this on my 94z.
