Thats whats I would suggest, Yea keep an eye open in the meantime but check everyones out, ride them (at owners approval of course  ;D ) and decide how you will be riding.  i weighed the pro's and cons of all types (hence the reason the guys were saying my candidates were all over the place) sat on and played around with all of them and finally decided on one that was a great find for cheap that was comfortable for the long trips, sporty and quick enough to not outgrow after the learning curve, and reliable and versatile enough to commute with if I decide to!

Well I've ridden a few bikes before. I've been on an 1100 honda shadow, and a YZF 1000 among other bikes and I know which is more comfortable and which is more fun! Either way I won't be getting a bike for a while. I've got too much other crap to take care of first.

Hey Roy. You wouldn't be pissed if I bought the same bike would you?

Nope......That would mean you have great taste ;D
:icon_lol: I wouldn't get that one unless he pulls his head out and be honest about the details and asked for what its worth, which is at least a couple hundred under 2 grand!
I would know I looked at it about an hour before I put some hold money down on the one I own.

Yeah I could have but saying I spec'd it out is just not cool enough :na_na:

he sold it anyway. Oh well. The search continues... I went and looked at some bikes today that I really like. Too bad they are all new..

Kawasaki versys. Feels great to sit on, but I'm sure it's not fast enough

Kawasaki V 1000 Felt pretty good, but a little too forward positioned.

Suzuki V-Storm 1000. I really liked this bike a lot. It felt great, but proly too slow! LOL!

Honda 919. Not as comfortable, but I bet it's fast enough to keep me satisfied for a while.

I sat on a bunch of cruisers and they are wayyyy to heavy. Not gonna happen. Then I sat on a few CBR 1000s, a couple of GSX Rs, and an R1 and my wrists started to hurt from just sitting there. Not gonna happen. At least I know what I'm looking for now. No yamahas there so I'll have to go to the yamaha dealer to check them out!

:) Didn't we warn you about super sports.

I think the Z1000 and the 919 are both pretty comfy.  About the same as my current bike.

The Versys has the same engine as my 650 IIRC.  Not a drag strip winner, but still not a slouch. (you will probably get used to the power and be in my boat however)

The SS looks like it could kick your ass, the WS6 looks like it's coming over to do it!

Yeah I forgot I was 18 when I rode my last bullet bike LOL! In the specs the versys only put out 44 ftlbs of torque and the ninja out out 48 ftlbs of torque, and the versys is 10 lbs heavier. Still a very comfy bike.

humm I like Honda 919's :) but the others :(

This was offered to me while lookin it is in UT somehwere :

"Dave, I have 2 monsters, one going up for sale when the wifey gets pregnant.   '99 750 with Termi Carbonfiber pipe, newer looking (current style) turn signals and cooler mirrors. Also has a carbonfiber rear tire "hugger". Bike is red.  Almost sold it last year for $3700 until my wife decided she wanted it. Let me know if you're interested, but it probably won't be selling for at least 4 months...

-Dan"

And yes I keep suggesting DUC's 'cause "I" think they are the best !!!   :metal:  :beerchug:

If you like the FZ1 then you would like the Bandit.  IMO the my Bandit was more comfortable than the FZ1.  The 1200 had plenty of power too.  I had a 2004 that was carbed, I understand the new ones are now fuel injected so that only made it better.

RESPONSE:

Yes, the 750 is still around but not up for sale until my wife gets pregnant. It won't be sold or even "posted" for at least 2-3 months, so no worries.

Asking $3700, which is very fair. So much, that a guy was going to come back with a check after riding it last year...then my wife decided to keep it.
