Man. Went for a ride today! Holy cow. I love my bike! It's freaking so much fun to ride. It is 100% different than it was when we picked it up in St. George. ROY... I have a mod you HAVE to do! Go to radio shack, buy their 1.99 assortment of washers, take out 4 #4 washers and put them under the needles in the carbs. I have more info if you are interested, but it really wakes up the bike! No more choppy bottem end. It really smothes out the power and I don't have to use the choke for anything except starting it when it's cold, and only for about 10 seconds! Before the mod you have to have the choke on for at least 3 minutes to get it to run half way decent! Ne way, here is a crappy pic!

~Hop
Uh Geoff .. Roy doesn't mod stuff ... I'm sorry I had to be the one to tell you  :'(

Don't make me beat yo ass  :na_na:

LOL I found your carb needle trick Jeff

Well the suzuki went another 20 miles today. Still a little cold to be riding. My hands were frozen by the time I got home. There were a bunch of bikes out today. I got the biker wave from a bunch of cruisers, but none of the sport bikes would even look! Douchbags! LOL!

I know Sad rode today also, I wonder if Dave and Chad did, and we all know Roy didn't

I also brought the camaro out of hybernation today. I forgot how much power it has. Lets just say the bandit wouldn't see anything but very small tail lights if it were to race the camaro! LOL!

Payable in monthly installments of 2 for $30, or 3 for $20  ;D

I've now ordered my new 70 series tires, and I'd really like to offset some of the cost, AND would rather give a good deal to a friend than ship it to Jersey or somethin'

Well I just about laid my bike down today because of the front forks not working right. If I got on the brakes hard the tire would just heave and hoe and bounce all over the place. So I decided to tear into it. Come to find out there wasn't much oil in them, and the oil that was in there was old. So now I just need to put oil back in them and I should be set! It only takes 15 minutes to get the fork tubes out! Something else I noticed about bikes, THEY DON'T ALWAYS TRIP THE LIGHTS!!! I sat at a light thismorning through about 6 cycles before it decided to give me a turn arrow. Freaking stupid lights! LOL!!

Be careful!

As for the lights, try to make sure you get on the sensor :)

Do yourself a favor Jeff and throw Dales progressive springs in there while you have them apart, Thats what I am doing.
Going to order everything this week hopefully after I get the brake work done.  also another cheap suspension mod on our bikes I will probably do in the future as swap in a rear Busa shock, you can get a good used one on ebay for cheap.  easy cheap swap apparently and you end up with a full adjustable in the rear.

No money for the springs. I'm pinching pennies for gas for the dune trip this month! LOL! Most people that complain about the nose diving on the bandits solve the problem by changing the fork oil. I guess the factory oil deteriorates pretty quickly for some reason. I won't be doing too many mods on this bike since I'll only have it for a couple of years and then get something bigger. I have a really hard time not getting a slip on exhaust though. The street sensors here in Idaho falls are all on top of the street lights and they use video camaras to determine if there is a car there or not. I guess they have a hard time seeing motorcycles unless you pull just over the white line.

Changed the oil, went for a ride, no difference. I guess springs and emulators are the only way to fix the problem. Oh well still a kick ass bike! I like it!

Dam that sucks that the oil didn't fix it, oh well maybe do the springs at a later time  :beerchug:

So how far did you have to tear the shocks down Jeff?
Were any steps that the manual specifies a "special tool" is required difficult to take care of!

you could actually change the springs with the forks still on the bike if it wasn's so messy. No special tools required! You take the tube cap off, spacer pipe, washer and then the spring just comes out. Turn it upside down and dump all the oil out, put new oil in it, new spring, washer, spacer pipe and screw the tube cap back on. No big deal. But you have to change the fork seal so before you take anything apart you have to loosen the damper bolt at the bottom of the fork, then take it apart, take the damper bolt out and slide the damper out the top of the fork tube, use the fork tube like a slide hammer and pull the seal out.

Purchased a rear tire for the bike. I won't have it on for the trip this weekend, but the wheels will be comming off, and getting powdercoated high gloss white, and the new tires will be going on. Rear tire is a Shinko Raven 009

I might be rethinking the white wheels. I've seen a lot of 400 bandits with white wheels on them. They look good, but I don't want to look like a 400......
