Ran for the first time in North Carolina today...
« on: August 07, 2005, 02:13:08 pm »
91 Corvette, L98, longtube headers, !CATS, Dr. Gas X pipe, & Magnaflow mufflers. (No N20 this time)

2.14 sixty
9.0485 1/8
78.03 1/8 MPH
13.9531 1/4
101.24 1/4 MPH

Mt old best in Utah was a 14.6.  I picked up .7 by dropping to sea level.  And this was only my first time out.  With some more practice I think I can better my Utah time by a full second without altering the car at all.

That is exactly why I hate running here in nosebleed country  It dropped me a actual full second et  makes me sick enough to not ever run in a climate with altitude

Nah, thee was only about 30 people running at the track for TnT.  I don't know anyone here yet, and they weren't showing times on the boards, you just got a slip.

You could say, that moving was the best mod you have done to the car. Still sucks for all of us up here though.

I gained 5 mph on my FIRST time out from my BEST mph ever in UT.  Most people I talk too think I can go 13.5 @ 105 or so when it cools off.  That'd be a touch more than a second, and a 9 mph gain without changing anything.

Wish me luck!

You know, that means we have some pretty fast cars up here. Most of us would be in the 12s easy. The thing that sucks is that the people down at sea level think we are all slow up here, and they have no idea of how much altitude changes things.

I hear ya.  I tell people all the time about my other vette that went 12.6, and my WS6 that went 13.1.  People here are like WTF, no big deal.

A buddy of mine has a stock LS1 with a Zo6 clutch, 4.10's and a 125 shot.  On 315 BFG drag radials he went 11.8, lol.

Man it just isn't fair. It takes a lot of work to get a car into the 11s up here!

Ya, some of the cars in Utah are pretty impressive I guess.  The thing I have noticed the most is that people have fast daily drivers in Utah, here everyone has a DD and a race car.  90% of the cars at the track only see the track and a trailer.  The owners usually claim they're street cars cause they have plates on them, but you'd never EVER catch one at a light.  They also won't meet you anywhere to race but the track.

Anyway, I just think it's cool that I am close a whole second faster down, here, lol.
