High Octane Where??
« on: November 05, 2008, 12:37:55 pm »
So I was wondering if anyone knows of any place that sells above 91 Octane ?

Ive been told to avoid Maverick like the plague and Exxon is pretty good, except the highest octane they have is 91 and I know Ive seen 93 but Im not sure if anyone carries it around here?

Triple stop in Roy and there is a place in Ogden on 2550 that sells race gas. I always run Maverick 91 in my car.

Don't worry about buying gas anywhere that's "big" like Maverick, Shell etc.  With how gas is federally inspected, it's all the same.  You don't find 93 octane up here because of the Altitude, if you want more octane, you need to go down in altitude.  As far as race gas, I'm new to the area so I'm no good in that department, sorry.

Unless you're running some type of forced induction or increased compression ratio then you don't need anything higher than 91 at this elevation.  If you want straight up race gas for running super-high boost or whatever I know they have it at a little gas station (it may be called Jensen Oil) on Redwood Road and about 4700 South....it is on the West side of Redwood Road...right across from the Arctic Circle.

Good to know- the redwood one is close to my house (kinda)
I plan on running 110 (or what ever I can find I guess) in a standalone

If you are travelling northwest, Burley and Boise Shell stations carry 93 octane...
