New Toy/Project
« on: September 25, 2009, 01:09:52 pm »
Well we finally got us a motorhome.  Finally no more "train"  :wootwoot:  We bought an old motorhome (81 Monaco 31 ft), but is in decent shape and no funky smells like a lot of older ones have.  We only paid $3600 for it, no leaks, runs and drives fine (454 / TH400).  I'm working on putting a new/stronger hitch on it to pull the car trailer and figuring out why the furnace won't run.  Then we will take it to Madras for a race and then the following weekend to Boise.  After that, our racing is done for the year and I can begin the project.  Now the project is to pull the entire drivetrain and shoe horn a Duramax / Allison combo into it.  I've made arrangements to purchase and pick up a Dmax/Alli combo from a friend in central Oregon the middle of October.  The Dmax has over 200k miles and a blown head gasket, so I will tear it down and refresh the engine and take care of the head gasket issue.  I don't have any pictures at the moment, but I will get some before / during/ and after the project.   :scaredjanine:
