where is my fuel filter?

I crawled under my car to replace the filter. I looked to where it should be. I saw 2 hoses connected to a huge foam thing. Is my filter inside that foam thing?

lol  ok   ill see if i can look it up for sure   unless it has one under the hood by the carb   most are somewhere underneath in the fuel line maybe that where you seen what you thought was it

I can see one by the carb, and if that's it the guy sold me the wrong part. I can't see one under the car by the fuel tank at all

FYI - 5.9 is not a GM or stock engine.  Did you mean 5.7 aka 350?  Most factory F-Body fuel filters are located under the car on the driverside in front of the rear axle approximately where the rear seat is.  If there is one by the carb it is an add on and that would explain why they gave you one that looks different.

try on the drivers side, front side of wheel-well where the fuel lines head up to the top of the tank....?

Yeah I meant 5.0 hit the wrong button. Yeah its in the carb a small soft filter. The guy at auto zone totally sold me the wrong part. The guy at checker showed me where it was. Yay....
