New Wheels
« on: August 31, 2005, 06:34:20 pm »
Well, I decided some new wheels were in order. I think they look pretty good. I need some new center caps with just a bowtie on them and some lug covers, but that's later! Sorry about the x's. 275s up front and 315s on back.

Some brands are wider than others. I have BF goodrich tires on there and they don't rub. There is a little pounding needed on the wheel well. The biggest problem is the jounce bump. I had to grind about 1/4 inch off of the mount and the bump stop just to mount the tires. Once the car is down there is no problem at all. My only problem is I still spin like crazy! Oh well.

I still have them. Two rims have new tires on them, and the other ones are going to get drag radials on them. These 315s don't hook worth a crap!

I didn't see the size listed, how wide are the back rims?

The SS looks like it could kick your ass, the WS6 looks like it's coming over to do it!

Nice!  I hope to have some that big some day.

I was also wondering if that might be part of the traction problems.  It is rumored that you could have problems fitting that size tire on a 17x9 or so wheel.  That's not your problem though.

What kind of tire are they?  Looks like Goodyear Eagle ??   If they are the same as my stock tires (the F1 GS) they SUCK!!!

To be honest with you they don't hook any better at all than the 245s. The only reason to go wider is better stance and they just look mean. I'd just get an extra set of stockers and throw some DRs on them. The fronts are F1s, but I don't know which ones. The 315s are BF goodrich tires.
