t-5 DOWN!!!!
« on: May 18, 2010, 06:09:04 pm »
I've probley already asked...but, any ideas on this:  did a t-5 swap and from the start the used tranny had some problems sticking in first.  Now I'm to the point I can't even get it in without it just falling out.  If I down shift it will hold until I start to coast then it pops out.  I was just curious if anyone thinks it could be a shifting fork...?  All the tranny shops are talkin 8-900 to rebuild it and its just not worth it to rebuild a tranny that will eventually just get wrecked by my 355.  I am just hoping it could be something simple just to get the wheels rollin...

A T-5, if you rebuild it to handle the horse power isn't going to cause any problems. :)  I would definitely do some research though before sending it to just any old shop.  Make sure you do your online research for what you want then ask when you take it to them and if they go "huh?" out the gate you leave. lol  An experienced shop should have no problems putting together what you want.
