Was it worth it?
« on: June 10, 2010, 08:28:41 pm »
You may be aware of my winter adventure with the car.  The simple cam swapped turned into more of a top end rebuild.  :(   But, I finally got out to the track.

Results:
I dropped about .5 sec from the changes. I am running the number I was hoping for from swap so I should be glad about it.

I can't find my old time slips right now or I would compare the ones from last year with their DA to this year. For the record - best pass of the night 12.563 @ 108.03 with a 1.774 60' at over 6800ft DA.

I know it is not great, but it was a good time at the track for me.  Some of you probably know I have been plagued with traction problems before and couldn't get good 60's or consistent passes. I got taller tires and that helped that, but that killed my gearing and slowed me down (doing 13.0s last season). Last night were some of my best 60s to date and fairly consistent (ranged from 12.637 to 12.563).

Time to throw in some taller gears and get the numbers down some more :)

The SS looks like it could kick your ass, the WS6 looks like it's coming over to do it!

Congrats.  You know the best way to pick up time is bring it over here to sea level.  That pass would have been around a 11.95 here.

I think it was worth it ... 12.5 was your goal ;) and driving to the track (RMR even) running a 12.5 ET and driving home is pretty impressive, remember when I was running the 12.0's the car went back on the trailer to go home :)

Besides I guess it's A LOT faster than any other car here since I don't see any other times ;)

Good job man. Get those gears in there and take it back out.
