not a problem, I had a HJC AC-12, the FS-15 was the "new" version of it, and they had it in a carbon fiber model ... I got the FS-15 on closeout here:

http://www.2wt.org/default.asp
(looks like they only have XL in carbon, and L,XL in copper / blue
for $230 !!!

It's light weight definitely helped with my neck strain, only downside is that it is louder than the AC-12 was, but I ride with skull candy FMJ's A LOT ;)

I need a new helmet - mine's been dropped (it was included with the bike), but being new to the bike scene i have no idea what I want.  I know I want a helmet thats quieter than the one i have though - but Im not 100% certain that the wind noise i heard is 100% from my helmet?  I also want something that matches with the bike (of course), and something that wont kill my neck.

I have had 3 helmets so far - and really like my Shoei (just wish it fit a little better - I believe a different model is a better shape for my head).

The helmets I've had:
HJC - CL-15
Scorpion EXO-400
Shoei RF1000

The Shoei has a nicer liner, smoother operating visor, is lighter, and has less wind noise.  The only downside is the $$$   (and the fact the liner isn't removable for washing in the RF1000)

The SS looks like it could kick your ass, the WS6 looks like it's coming over to do it!

Hmmm that is a nice looking helmet:  http://www.2wheeltoyz.com/product-p/0101.htm

Yup!  I scored a full set of factory fairings + gas tank (used) that were almost mint (only 2 scratches on the gas tank), for pretty good deal.  So I replaced everything.  It turned out really nice.

P.S.  Aaron if you want a set of race fairings / tank - that needs fiberglass work and paint, I'd hook you up.  I have no use for them.  Also I have a integrated turn signal tail light that came on the bike - it needs to be cleaned up but otherwise works fine..... you'd need to add a different relay to avoid the ricer speed turn signal flash.  I replaced it with the same kind - just a new one thinking I was getting a different light LOL.

If your just throwing away the fairings/tank I'll take them.

And I think I am interested in the tail light.

Oh - and one other bad thing about the Rf-1000, it fogs quite a bit in cooler weather :(

If I had to do it over again, I think the X-Eleven would probably be the better choice.  And now the Rf-1100 and X-twelve are out and I think fixed some of the Rf-1000 issues.

Check this site out for helmet reviews:  http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-helmets/motorcycle-helmets.htm

I was going to point you to the same sites as SAD ;)

BUT the link you posted to the RF-1000 would be a GREAT buy ! I'm just more or a HJC fan than SHOEI, although with SHOEI's older models on closeout it levels the playing field A LOT  :metal:

I've had KBC, HJC, and Aria.  The best "bang for the buck" is the HJC in my opinion.  I was wearing a HJC when I wrecked.  It is beat and scarred, but protected very well.  I had no concussion, neck injury, or any facial/head abrasions.  The helmet didn't even crack or break, and I know I hit pretty hard.

.. another thought ... if you don't have a reference to brand / size / etc. ... go local, and try on a bunch ! Then see if they will price match the internet, if not save your $'s and buy online ;)

+1 to that.  My latest I bought from Kneedraggers.com  Before that I bought mine at the Suzuki dealer in Pocatello, but that is because I raced with the owner and he gave me discounts.  Even after moving to Portland, I bought a new helmet from Pocatello when I picked up my busa that I ordered through him.  Too bad I heard he closed up this last year.
