I am a big fan of those carbs, but it really sounds like a fuel issue.

So I went out today and idled it in the garage.  Vacuum is good, everything seems ok...revved it up, no problems.  All the way to 5K on the tack, all good.  So, tomorrow I"ll take it for a little test drive near the house to see what's what with it.  Talk about wierd.  Maybe I had bad gas from sitting for nearly 8 months?

I had just over ''E'' when i got the carb back on.  soon as i got her driving i went and threw a tank of premium in it....maybe I just finished the old stuff and got back on the premium?  anyway, more tests in the driveway before I am certain of anything.

what kind of carb are you runnin?

;) that always seems to come up ...

Hoppie so loves to tease me over my choice of carb. LOL

I've got nothing against quadrajets, holley's, or edlebrocks (have lots of each) ... just carbs with wires going too them ;)

No, this choke was bad, it was replaced at the shop when it was rebuilt.  I will just need someone to help me fine tune it to my car if they have the time and I can keep it running.

Welll...damn.   fired her up today and she's running...just a little hesitation, no dying though...still some part throttle vacuum issues but she's running which is a huge improvement over not running.

You have had nothing but problems with that... I know how you feel.  That sucks man.  That's what finally pushed me over the edge to buy fuel injection vehicles.

The SS looks like it could kick your ass, the WS6 looks like it's coming over to do it!

I spoke with the guy who rebuilt the carb and he believes I have some ''trash'' that got sucked up and that it just needs a good blowing out.  I will give it a try this weekend to see if that does anything.
