OK .. so why the random RED on the intake ??? LT4 POWER !

TURN some bolts then turn the KEY  :na_na:

~Hop
I like Red biatch ;) these are the color themes for the future of car! Black with red and silver in various places
Looks good. So is that powdercoat on the intake or paint? Make sure you take the tape off the heads before you put the intake back on! LOL!! Who polished yer throttle body? Looks shiny!! P.S. you gonna have the car ready for the cruise in?
:icon_lol: Yea I made a mental note of the tape since I could see that as something that could be forgoten.  Everything is powdercoated.  Valvecovers I got used on tech already coated and the the coating/port and polish work on the intake/maf ends and throttle body were all done by Silverghost on Tech (powderpro).

Got it all back together and the first startup done.  Need to fix a couple exhaust issues and get the cooling system air free but happy with the progress. Great oil pressure, valvetrain seems pretty quiet thanks to medium sized cam and me being anal with checking all the geometry carefully and upgrading the rockers.  Idles and runs better than I expected but still need to get the codes read and get it tuned.
Note all the dust on the hatch in the last pic for sitting so long :D

A couple steps back and a few forward ::) ;D
Catback is off now, after the startup the intermediate shifted away from the Y so when I loosened all the connections up to reposition, somehow the intermediate to over-axle clamp cross threaded and sheared off :-X
Said screw it and ordered some of the nice accuseal band clamps!
Also was under the car making sure clearance between headers and wires were good,  inspecting around and heard a snap.......doh (as in a short to ground snap).  threw the meter on it and was reading 12 volts between the starter housing and the harness.  Pretty sure its my fault  :P, wrapped a lot of wires with thermal tape around the headers and I think I am contacting somewhere so i am seeing voltage on the harness.  Got the starter disconnected and out of the way (not enough room to drop it) so this weekend I can get my hand in there and sort out the issue and get a wire that's close to primary 4 moved away.
Also been talking to my tuner and he instructed me to get a 160 degree stat :icon_lol: another thing to do.  So got one on order so hope to get that in early next week as well as this other stuff sorted so I can take it for a spin etc.  :wootwoot:

He didn't say exactly why I needed it, but I take his word on it!
Guessing its because of what he said about my heads, the LS6 heads are more knock sensitive than the LS1 castings and its made even more so when they are ported.  So I guess cooler temps will help reduce chance of detonation and or maybe allow less timing to be pulled(he said my stock timing will be a little much given my setup).

All the little issues have been keeping me busy  :P
Finally got most everything solved, got the new stat in and cooling system bled.  Solved my grounding issue and got all the header to wire clearance problems done.  Created another problem when I was retorquing the header bolts,  ::) one of my plug wires decided to come apart, so had to order some new ones along with a PVC hose that I didn't figure I needed before :D.  Got those on and then fought with the catback some more >:(  still not 100 percent happy but got it good enough for now.
Here it is as of tonight......finally
off the ramps and touching pavement :metal:

Idles ok but drives funny and wanted to die on me once but it seems to be learning a bit.  went on a short couple block drive then back to double check everything.  Everything seemed good so drove it downtown to checker to get the SES light checked, which finally came up today (wasn't on before)  and got some good news.  Only had the code for EGR come up which I expected since its not there anymore :icon_lol:
Happy with the news drove back home parked in the driveway and did some garage cleaning, got pretty bad over the whole time the car was apart.  Got it cleaned up and parked her for the night,  looks so low and mean after having it up in the air for so long >:D
Engine bay all done now so got the pic of that and the work

That's good to hear Roy. I know it needs to be tuned, but can you tell the difference with the new heads...while cruising?

Grandma driving it to be safe so didn't get on it at all and didn't go above 3 grand.  Can tell at idle and low RPM its rich, smells great  :icon_lol:.  Sounds a lot better than before, not too loud at idle and cruise but can tell it will sound mean when on it...just how I wanted it.

You're going to get that regardless of your tune.  With a big cam, and no cats - its gonna stink at idle :)

Glad it's running.  Get it tuned!

Only if the tuner get's here this year. Seems like it's taking forever.
Can tell at idle and low RPM its rich

I hear ya. I'm seeing 10.0 a/f when I hit boost. Timing is conservative. I actually hit 10psi today...ooops. I had to back the controller down. Now it's seeing wastegate pressure...around 7psi. Just needs to be leaned out and timing adjusted...hmmmm can't wait.

HA ! This is probably the part that Roy likes, His car is together and runs, BUT since it isn't tuned, he has a fairly legit excuse as to why he can't use it ... Before we could only blame him, now we can blame Mr. eL Ess Juan (opps I mean his tuner)

~Hop

p.s. I recently talked to Roy on the phone, so he knows I'm j/k like normal :)

Only partial throttle...no WOT yet. 10.0 a/f  is pretty safe.  I did this to see where boost was going to hit. I had to back the boost controller all the way back.
