I have two sets of 350 heads. Both sets are smog truck heads though. Spoke too soon on the LT1. Things changed as I am broke right now. :(

Got a whopping 45 minutes to work on my car today. Started pulling the dash, and pulled the console. Set the new one in place for mock up. Need to make some bracketry to mount it. Console sits a little high due to the shifter. Gonna compare a 4th gen shifter to the third gen shifter and see if there is a difference.

It is in pretty good shape. Its missing one of the defrost vents and has a small indent from my pillar gauges on top of it. I replaced it a couple of years ago.

No real updates as I haven't had time to continue teardown yet, but I should be picking up the 4th gen Camaro seats I need to complete my interior transformation tomorrow. Also, if anyone knows where some black hatch plastics can be had on the cheap lemme know. Biggest hurdle I need to overcome is how im gonna build speaker pods for the doors since I'll no longer have dash speakers. Thinking wood with some vinyl. Need to sketch it out first.

Well, its been awhile since I've updated. Made a little change in plans and bagged the T/A dash idea..............in favor of a 98 Camaro dash, console and leather seats. Everything is in, but I need a new dash pad/ filler panel as mine got destroyed from sitting in the car with the old parts on it. Also have to put in a light switch. Just recently was able to track one down. Here's a couple pics.

Small update. Decided the 4th gen interior is so nice that it needed the drivetrain to boot. LS1/4L60E are sitting in the garage. Engine is torn down and almost ready for the machine shop. Most likely will be a stock style rebuild and would like to upgrade to 243 heads and a decent cam. Time (and funds) will tell on what happens. Still need many things for the swap, but it'll be worth the time.

Ask and ye shall receive! Its not much right now. Spun a rod bearing and the metal took out 1 lifter roller and the comp cam that I hoped to reuse. :( And, of course put a ridge in the crank. Haven't mic'd it yet to see if its turnable, but it doesn't appear too bad to me. Had planned on a stroker setup but couldn't come up with the funds in time and it sold to someone else.

So for the ones who don't quite speak LSaneese.  Are 241 heads the ones to get for LS1's?  What makes them desireable?

241's are the "better" stock LS1 heads. They were used 01-04. They have a little bit better ports, due to being die cast, as opposed to the previous sand cast heads. Once ported, that difference is non-existant.

One other difference for those that might run into this later, 853 needs stock type graphite gaskets, no MLS.
There is a spot in the casting that could leak potentially.

And sorry again about having to sell that rotating assembly. Im glad it went elsewhere, they were more knicked then id want someone i knew to run.
