Speakers arrived and they are 8+/10  :pimp: I tested the woofers and they both seemed great, didn't test the tweeters yet ...

So it turns out in the factory Camaro monSUCK sound system that the rear most hatch speakers are 4 ohm 4" coaxial ... and well since I had a pair of JL audio TR-400CX's sitting in the closet I tossed them in ;)

The sounds difference is unbelievable GM should be embarrassed by the quality of speakers, factory installed :(

In the grand scheme of things these will probably just be hooked up to the rear deck speaker outputs of the planned audio upgrades, but oh well it was a 15 minute install that provided good results  :beerchug:

Don't do that :( the right side would fit, BUT there is no mounting depth on the left side. Also you don't want your soundstage coming from the hatch ... buy some awesome'r coaxials for the front doors instead  :pimp: http://store.12velectronics.com/imagine-i61-2-6-5-component-coaxial-speaker-set/

Oxygen free copper, 24K gold plated ends (really not that special, BUT I like the black/clear color combo) ...

On my SS, I deleted the 4 inchers in the back as well as the subs in the b pillars and ran 6 1/2" infinitys in the b pillars. Best decision EVER! Of course I ran an aftermarket head unit and a 10" sub with it.
1992 RS-LS1/4L60E swap planned-SOLD!

More in the mean time mods, no new eXcelon for the '02 yet so I added an 1/8" input jack to the stock CD radio (post DAC, pre AMP section) ... With the male 1/8" jack unplugged the CD plays, with it plugged in CD audio is bypassed, (still spinning) and MP3 device audio is input :) Total cost $2.87, and some soldering time at 2:00 am last night  :wootwoot:

Nice! Ineed to do some upgrading in the 98

You have a good enough deck, get a decent 5 channel (this is a screamin' deal: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=269-191 ) -OR- a KILLER 4 channel (like SAD's)

(4) GOOD! co-axials
and a rear drivers side hatch box / 10" subwoofer

And be done with it :)

I'm confused Roy ? all strip clubs have a "Bumpin" soud system ?
