modded the pickup today
« on: January 25, 2012, 12:58:47 am »
Someone graciously Brooke the crap out of my passenger mirror on my pickup so I had to replace my mirrors. Instead of putting stock ones back on I decided to put some tow mirrors on instead. Here are before and after pics.

Old mirror

New mirror

Both mirrors for a comparison

Both new mirrors

anyway I ended up fixing the old mirror so now I have a set of stock chrome mirrors if anyone wants them. Three passenger side needs new glass but everything works. I like the new mirrors!

You will like them much better.  I struggle when I get into a rig that doesn't have the split side mirrors.  I use that so much for a quick check of my blind spot.

It gets driven quite a bit up here when we aren't working. When we are working it just suits there.

Nice! That was the first thing I did to my truck; the stock mirrors suck for a full sized truck.
I sold my stock ones for $40 on ksl, the right's glass was slightly cracked too.

Now you need to level them!  :metal:

Hmm. How do I go about leveling them? I didnt see any adjustment for that.

Ok. I found something. Is this what you are talking about?

Yep, exactly.
Can be a little tricky to get it just right (add spacers then trim the center piece), but it looks oh so much better, and works perfectly normal!
Kinda embarrassing Chevy and GMC produced a truck with crooked mirrors.  They fixed it in the '07.5 model design.

I just noticed we have the same tires too!  Probably same size too, 285s?    :wootwoot:

My tires are 275/70/18. I had 285s on there but went a little smaller with the new rims. These tires are freaking awesome.

Looks good!   I can't stand the little mirrors either.

The SS looks like it could kick your ass, the WS6 looks like it's coming over to do it!
