Finally got my cam from More Performance
« on: July 09, 2005, 03:47:16 am »
Well, I decided to order my cam from More Performance. The specifications for my car are on this thread: http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=365947

Here's cam the specs:

Part# 07-000-8
Grind: LT1 3314/ 3316 HR115+3
Gross Lift (1.5 Ratio) .502/ .520 (.536/ .555 w/ 1.6 rockers)
Duration @ .006 275/ .287
Valve timing Open Close
@ .50 Int: 0 BTDC 44 ABDC
Exh: 56 BBDC 0 ATDC

These specs are for cam installed @ 112.0 intake centerline

Duration @ .050 224 236
lobe lift .3350 .3470
Lobe seperation 115.0

This is the cam i'm installing in my car, but I have a couple questions:

-What is the HR 115+3 mean?
-How much addtional performance will I realize out of 1.6 RRs?

Thanks again!
JD

sorry, I didn't clarify.  I wasn't sure what the +3 annotation was.

I would think 15-20 RWHP, tops.  Less than 10 is more likely, IMO.

Looks like you bought the caddy, drop me a line sometime and bring me up to speed.

My understanding is that the cam is ground with 3 degrees advance w/the timing set straight up. Specially helpfully for those that don't have adjustable timing sets.  The difference from 115LSA to the 112IC.

As for the 1.5 vs. 1.6 only the dyno will tell. From my experience, which is pretty limited to be honest, boosted motors don't react as expected compared to a n/a car. I would say to borrow some and see if they give you much of a difference. High lift cams don't seem to be a part of the f/i world as far as i've seen. I don't really know why.
